Founder Adam Harper
Adam Harper is the Founder and Managing Director of Ashbury Communications.
He was previously HSBC’s Head of Communications for Greater China, responsible for the Group's communications in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He also played a leading role in HSBC's communications about its China strategy and business with international audiences.
Adam joined HSBC in 2012 and was also Head of Communications for the bank's home market of Hong Kong and Regional Head of Communications for Global Banking and Markets, Asia-Pacific. Before joining HSBC, he was a Vice President in Credit Suisse's Asia-Pacific Corporate Communications team.
Adam has extensive experience in advising senior executives on strategic communications in Asia-Pacific, including campaigns, crisis management and employee engagement. Creating original content has always been a passion for him.
Adam started his career with Euromoney Institutional Investor in London and worked as a financial journalist in London and Hong Kong, where he has lived since 2004. He has a degree in English from the University of Cambridge.
Director of Advisory
Noel is a seasoned communications professional having gained an extensive in-house experience in Asian corporate communications working at investment banks and financial services companies before joining Ashbury in 2020.
She was Head of Communications for North Asia at ANZ and a Vice President in corporate communications at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley.
Noel is a graduate of the University of Leeds and holds a master’s degree in Communications from Goldsmiths, University of London.

Steve leads and develops Ashbury’s original content offering, helping our clients articulate their insight into the future of finance in Asia, especially in connection with ESG and technology.
Steve is one of the leading financial writers and editors in Asia. Over the past 16 years, he has built up deep knowledge of the region’s capital markets and financial institutions.
As Editor of IFR Asia for the past 11 years, he has been responsible for its authoritative coverage of trends including the rise of sustainable financing, the rapid growth of regional debt capital markets and the pivot of Asia’s equity markets towards financing innovative companies.
He is a graduate of the University of Nottingham.
Director and Head of Singapore
Bruce leads Ashbury's Singapore operation.
He previously led Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ Central Asia practice based in Kazakhstan before moving to Hong Kong in 2012, where he was a Director and Asia Chief of Staff at Brunswick Group
and later Head of Corporate Reputation for Hong Kong at FleishmanHillard. Prior to that he lived and worked in
South Africa, Russia and South Korea as well as in his native United States.
Bruce holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis.
Ellin was previously the Programme Lead for Accenture’s FinTech Innovation Lab in Asia Pacific, managing relationships with over 60 partners and provided counsel and advice to participants. Before Accenture, Ellin spent six years with Burson-Marsteller.
Ellin is a graduate of the University of New South Wales and the London School of Fashion.
Fion is an Associate in the Advisory team.
She joined from Haitong International, where she was Assistant Manager, Corporate Communications. She was previously in the communications and branding team at UBS.
Fion holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Global Business and Marketing degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Jason was a Senior Editor at Economist Impact, previously known as the Economist Intelligence Unit. He has worked extensively with financial clients on research-driven projects focused on technology and ESG. His previous roles include Managing Editor of Campaign Asia Pacific and Financial Editor at CLSA.
Jason is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Kareem was previously a Contributing Editor at New Narrative and has written extensively about finance in Asia Pacific since 2016. He previously founded and edited Inside Asia Gaming magazine and worked at the Economist Intelligence Unit.
Kareem is a graduate of the University of Oxford.

Jeremy consults with clients requiring creative guidance and top-quality writing skills.
He was previously Head of Brand & Communications, SE Asia at BNP Paribas in Singapore and APAC Head of Internal Communications at Deutsche Bank. He has also worked with the CME Group, Citi and the London Stock Exchange.
Jeremy received his MA in English Literature from Rhodes University, South Africa.
Director of Operations
Joanne has extensive in-house experience and understanding of financial services clients' opportunities in particular in sustainability.
Before joining Ashbury, Joanne was a Senior Communications Manager at HSBC, and has previously worked at Standard Chartered.
Joanne graduated from University College London and has a degree in Laws from University of London.
