Programme timeline: August 2026 to July 2027
What the programme offers:
- A strong foundation in a career in strategic communications in an international setting, through mentorship and on-the-job learning right from the start
- A pathway to an accelerated career with Ashbury on completion of the programme, subject to performance
- Opportunity to work alongside and learn from experienced communicators and financial journalism veterans, and collaborate closely with a highly diverse and international team based in Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and the United Kingdom
- Exposure to sophisticated international/ regional clients and journalists, and opportunity to get involved in client-facing work from an early stage of career
- Understanding of the context and priorities of clients, media and their audience specific to the markets we operate in
- Other learning support such as a Learning Subsidy for you to take training courses of your choice and that are aligned with Ashbury’s values and business needs.
Programme highlights:
- The Graduate Trainees will be based in our Hong Kong or Singapore office
- The 12-month programme will involve mainly working with our Advisory team, with opportunity to support designated tasks by our Content team
- Structured training on communications skills and tools that we use to deliver our client work
- Job shadowing from early days of the programme, especially on media relations, client advisory, client meetings, supporting events, etc.
- Designated assignments working with our various work streams
- Regular catch-up between Graduate Trainees, regular check-ins with line manager, senior mentorship throughout the programme
- Further into the programme, to take ownership of specific deliverables in support of our clients’ communications strategy, with the guidance and support from the more senior members of the team
- At the end of the programme, a final assessment for an accelerated career with Ashbury.

- A keen interest in current affairs and passion for the future of finance, especially in technology, climate and sustainability issues
- The curiosity in the business of our clients and news agenda
- Outstanding project management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently
- The confidence to advance new ideas and enter into constructive debate with the team
- An entrepreneurial and self-starting mentality
- High attention to detail and passion for high quality work
- The willingness and ability to take ownership
- The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment
- Excellent analytical, research and storytelling skills
- Native or fluent proficiency in written and spoken English, with Chinese and other Asian languages considered an advantage.
To be eligible, you will have:
- To be in your final year Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or have graduated within 1 year, in any study discipline from a reputable university in Hong Kong, Singapore or overseas
- The right to work in Hong Kong or Singapore. Candidates without the right to work in Hong Kong or Singapore are subject to fulfilment of visa requirements.
