Associate, Advisory
Based in Hong Kong or Singapore
Ashbury Communications, an award-winning strategic communications consultancy, is looking for an outstanding individual who has a passion for telling compelling stories to join our team as an Associate, Advisory.
Key responsibilities
In this role, the candidate will:
- Support our growing portfolio of clients across Asia Pacific and the Middle East by building and protecting their reputations.
- With the guidance from the more senior members of the team, take ownership of client relationships.
- Drive the end-to-end process of specific deliverables in support of clients’
communications strategy. - Support key events across Ashbury’s clients on media relations, social media, panel briefing, event and senior stakeholder management.
- Conduct research and analysis on industry trends and media landscapes to support client strategies.
- Monitor news and social media on coverage of clients to track reputation, with the use of tools such as Signal and InferenceCloud.
- Draft communications materials for clients, such as press releases, media pitches, reports and presentations.
- Assist in, and gradually take a more proactive role in, driving media outreach, journalist engagement and maintaining press relationships.
- Support media training projects for Ashbury’s clients as and when necessary.
- Drive the end-to-end process of the production of Ashbury’s weekly newsletter, “Trending”, in collaboration with the wider Ashbury team.
- Work closely with the broader Ashbury team to identify opportunities to enhance advisory services for clients, and bring fresh ideas and engage in constructive debate with the team.
- Look out for new business opportunities with existing clients.
- Help identify potential new clients and contribute to new business ideas
- Contribute to new business pitches.
- Collaborate with the rest of the Advisory team and the Content team based in Hong Kong, Singapore, the UAE and the UK.
Key competencies

- At least two years of communications experience; experience in financial
communications preferred. - International exposure and cross-border business acumen.

- Fluent written and spoken English, with Chinese or other Asian languages considered an advantage.
Background of candidates
We welcome candidates with:
- Background in in-house financial communications, agency or financial media.
- University or post-graduate qualification from any discipline of studies from a reputable university.
- The right to work in Hong Kong or Singapore preferred.
